Beskrivelse
Created using Trond Are Berge’s Projectography technique, a cluster of small wooden houses was projected onto a cross-section of a tree trunk and then photographed again, blending two separate images into one.
The artwork explores the relationship between people and the land they inhabit. The tree rings and houses hint at stories of time, settlement and generations. More than a thousand years ago, Viking settlers established farms and communities across Norway, leaving traces that can still be found today.
The meaning of the image is left open to the viewer’s own interpretation.
